When I widened the field of Best Looks from ten to twenty, I thought it would make my life easier. But honestly? Not really. There were so many amazing outfits to choose from that narrowing it down to twenty was borderline physically painful. So, how did I manage this feat?
Okay, and some fudging (yes, there’s a tie below), but mainly ruthlessness! We’ll count down the first half today, and then get to the top ten on Thursday.
Ready, steady, go.
20) NYC 2: Calvin Klein

I’ll be honest with you, I wasn’t planning on talking about this look at first. At all. I’ve seen Harry in Calvin Klein with the ‘parade’ style details on the cuffs and pants before and it hasn’t really been to my taste. So what changed? In my research for these posts, I watched videos of Harry performing the song Medicine from all sixty concerts – and seeing this suit in motion made all the difference.

I think the color combo is what makes this suit in particular work for me enough to crack the top twenty. Harry didn’t wear a lot of blue suits and of the ones he did, I think the shade of this one worked best for me. And the colors in the details complement it beautifully.

19) South Brisbane: Givenchy

Okay, I know we just covered basic black yesterday, but I simply had to include this look in the top twenty. I remember the reaction to it online at the time being a little lackluster, but I fucking love it. The crisp simplicity! And even in a simple black suit, he’s still Harry, you know?

One more look at those boots. Oh my god. Yes, I love sparkles anyway, but these specific sparkles really elevate the look, in my opinion, giving you some flash for your cash.

This jacket is killer; I really love the shape to the shoulder in particular.

And of course there’s a patterned lining!
18) Detroit // St. Paul // Denver // Seattle: Gucci
Okay, yes, I cheated a little and created a four-way tie. But listen, Harry wore the same self-tie Gucci blouse in four different colors, what was I supposed to do? Let’s go city by city, and I want to start with Denver because I think it might be my personal least fave of the four.

Is it my least fave because this blouse is the most opaque of the four? Who’s to say?

I do love the black straight leg trousers he paired it with.

He’s come undone.
Next up: St. Paul, since Harry wore similar black pants.

Look at the blouse in pink! I think this one is actually pretty opaque too, but pink can make up for most things in my book.

God bless the fan who caught the side stripe detail close up. The black pairs really well with the pink – not that it didn’t with the gold, but you know?

LET US LIVE, HAROLD.

The Detroit show was actually our first look at this Gucci blouse, in person for some of us – including yours truly, so I admit that I’m attached to this outfit. But honestly, that glittery blue would have drawn me in anyway; he looks like a mermaid.

He paired the blue with cream flared trousers, which works beautifully. You can just get a peek of the embroidery on one of the cuffs in this photo, which I didn’t see until the next day.

Cute!

Buckle up, ladies and gents, because we’ve made it to Seattle. Same blouse in sheer black paired with the flared trousers, can you even?

God, this embroidery on the cuff.

Sheer perfection (pun intended, Harry would love it).

OBSCENE.
17) Hershey, PA: Gucci

It’s like he overheard me talking about the South Brisbane look and is here to interest me in some color.

And I really do love the simple, classic cut of this suit in this pale turquoise. Right down to the details, even the buttons.

I am obsessed with this photo of Harry watching Kacey Musgraves’ opening set. He looks great but he’s also so clearly at ease and, at the end of the day, that’s really what fashion is for, right?
16) Melbourne: Alexander McQueen

I had originally been thinking I would cover this look in a different post later in the week but, once again, seeing the look in motion made me reconsider.

I gag a little when people take themselves too seriously and say stuff like this, but this suit is literally wearable art; it’s so impressive and beautifully done. Let’s look at some closeups from McQueen’s social media:

Thanks to the Harry Styles Fashion Archive, an invaluable resource, I know that this pattern was inspired by Gustav Klimt, which you can read a little more about here.

The suit looks so good on him on stage; it functions really well as stagewear without hewing costume-y, which I appreciate.

He made me a believer.
15) San Jose: Gucci

From one work of art to another.

I might actually be in love with this floral print. There’s so much detail, but it doesn’t look busy to me; all of the elements work together harmoniously.

This suit is a little less structured than most of the ones Harry wore on tour; it’s silk, with a shawl collar. It’s a little Palm Springs, maybe a little Chicos? In a cool way. And I love it with all my heart.
14) Buenos Aires: Givenchy

YAY SPARKLES

I knew this suit was going to look even better in videos and I was right.

He doesn’t really need the detail on the blouse, this suit is doing all the sparkly work, but I’m not mad at it.
13) Singapore: Saint Laurent

What is this?

Singapore is the first tour date when Harry paired a blouse with slim pants, sans jacket, so this look was high impact at the time, but I still would have loved it if he’d worn a thousand blouses before it. Why? This one checks basically every box I have, including gold/metallic and ruffles. And just… I really love how he blurs the lines of masculinity and femininity, and how it doesn’t even seem to be a rebellious act, really. This just seems like an outfit he loved, could move in, and wanted to wear. And I think that’s beautiful, Harry.

See, and he knows how good he looks.
12) LA 1: Gucci

I love the way this silhouette looks on him, and these may be my favorite flares of the tour.

God, this dark teal velvet is so romantic.

And look at the visual interest of the blouse!
11) Vancouver: Harris Reed

Get ready: You’re about to witness a meltdown of epic sparkly proportion.

I MEAN HONESTLY HOLY SHIT

Wow ok I did NOT expect best of to start on TUESDAY and I was not prepared. I, um, also, have…never seen. THAT. Seattle look. From the back. His back. Harry’s back. His broad back. In that gif. In motion. In sheer. Sparkles in motion. I need…many moments. And many other things. Mostly that gif.
You are doing such good work and I thank you.
