You guys, we made it! After a surprisingly great season of game, a winner has been crowned, America’s Favorite Houseguest has been named, and someone proposed after only spending about 20 days with his new fiancée. Here’s hoping that this season becomes the blueprint for seasons to come, because after years of consistently predictable gameplay, we have finally swung back to the Big Brother I know and love. AND we finally proved that casting all new people each season is so much better than vets versus newbies…although I’m still waiting on another All-Stars season. If BB20 is anything to go by, I can’t wait to see what they do with BB21. But first (I had to), we’ve just got a few more matters to take care of with this season.
For the last time this summer (yes, I’m fully aware it’s Fall now), let’s jump in!
JC is the first to drop in part one of the HOH comp. Because he might as well stay on brand to finish out the season.
Tyler wins part one of the HOH comp even though he told Kaycee he’d throw it. Which I get, because you never know how part two will shake out, but then also maybe don’t promise the win to someone else?
In part two, you have to climb a rock wall. Oh my god, is that the reason there’s one in the house? IS IT?
Kaycee wins part two of the HOH by less than a minute. Welp. Hope you like third place, JC.
BB2’s Dr. Will hosts the jury roundtable. Look, I’m still in the camp that says he was one of the best players in this game, so I’m always down to watch him moderate this.
Literally everyone cheered when they found out JC got Angela out. God, what a beautiful moment that was.
Angela outs Level Six and says Tyler was the leader. Whoops, who’s going to tell him that his girlfriend just killed his chances of winning?
“I think I’m pretty good at reading people.” -Brett. Good enough to get blindsided by the back door, but okay. Maybe you should work on that.
The jury oddcast thing is an interesting idea for the final part of the HOH comp. But I miss when they shot straight jury interviews and the houseguests had to score points by guessing how all the jury members would shit talk each other.
Tyler and Kaycee tied the entire time. And the audience was RIVETED. Honestly, I think their reactions were better than the actual competition.
Kaycee wins the tiebreaker and becomes the final HOH. Girl was off by 13 seconds during the tiebreaker question, how does she even do this?
JC is evicted and becomes the final member of the jury. And I am thrilled that there’s a final two in place that I don’t have to be angry about. I’m honestly fine with either Tyler or Kaycee winning at this point.
Tyler apologizes to Bayleigh for the hacker argument. I’m not totally buying it, and it didn’t look like Bayleigh did, either, but nice try?
“I wanted you guys to think I was confused.” Guys, remember when I had literally zero faith in Tyler? What an innocent time that was.
Julie outs Tyler and Angela as a showmance. Meh.
Fessy and Haleigh say they’re the real deal. God, do you really want to be around all that testosterone all the time?
Swaggy C proposes to Bayleigh and she says yes. Guys…he got evicted week two. They knew each other for 23 days. I just…does NO ONE remember Krista and Boogie from BB2 and how that played out?
The other non-jury members got zero airtime because of the proposal. Which is sad because I really wanted them to at least touch on the whole Rachel/Angela thing. Every once in a while “WHAT’S WRONG WITH ANGELA?” pops into my head, and I’d like a resolution on that, please.
Kaycee wins BB20 by a vote of 5-4. She also becomes the first gay woman to win the game (the last time I can recall where that *almost* happened was BB6, when Ivette made it to final two before losing to Maggie), and I’m just overwhelmed? Not to mention she was a comp beast with a decent social game. She earned it.
Tyler wins America’s Favorite Houseguest. I mean, he did have a big part in making this season super interesting, so good for him.
Who made Brett a contender for America’s Favorite Houseguest? Because I have a bone to pick with you.
“We’ll see you this winter for Celebrity Big Brother, and we will also see you again next summer.” Oh…so Julie’s not leaving? Oh.
Do you think the right person won? What did you think of the season as a whole? Let’s chat in the comments. And thanks for letting me be your BB20 guide this summer!
