When Harry Styles began the first leg of his worldwide tour, we noticed a pattern – a Gucci floral suit pattern, to be specific. I fully believed he’d commit to his best Posh Spice life and continue to choose from the Gucci floral suit, the Gucci floral suit or… the Gucci floral suit. And so, we at HOF HQ decided that once the tour leg wrapped, we’d do a post ranking the different Gucci floral suits he wore. Harry (being Harry) decided to blow up that plan halfway through, adding in suit repeats from album promo as well as a fancy pant here and there. We regrouped and decided you know what? Let’s crowdsource this bitch. So we consulted friends and each of us picked a fave look from this tour leg to talk about. I’m always excited to talk Harry fashion, but this time I’m even more excited to listen to what everyone else has to say.
9/19 SAN FRANCISCO
I was hlessed to be at this show and, at this point, we had no idea what Harry was going to wear on stage for tour. Skinnies and a t-shirt? Fancy trousers with a plain blouse, maybe. Full-on custom Gucci suit? There could be a HAT. We just didn’t know. As we waited for him to go on, we spied the band walk on stage and I could see someone hanging back a bit in a white suit. And literally, who else in that entire venue would be wearing a white suit, I ask you. It was him, I knew it.
I KNEW IT. HE WENT FULL-ON CUSTOM GUCCI SUIT.
Although the word custom must mean something different to Gucci than it does to me, he’s a little bit swimming in fabric, yes? I tried to squint and tell how the fit was from our seats in the balcony, and it looked okay from there, but honestly I can’t even say definitely which shoes he’s wearing because the pant legs are so long.
Oh, did I not mention that at one point the jacket came off because yeah, it did.
Okay, I know Harry is, like, a grown adult man and a professional, but between the pant length and this pesky microphone cord, I was convinced he was going to trip and fall.
But he didn’t! He made it through the entire (amazing) show. And while he didn’t have the chatty bits from later shows that we saw via Tumblr down yet, he did thank us for popping his tour cherry and twirl this rainbow flag before tying it to the microphone stand.
And I couldn’t ask for more, not from him and not from this suit. We actually had to zoom in on our cameras to see the pattern, and I love it. It’s romantic and soft, but not too dainty, you know?

Moving on, time to kick it Harry style in Los Angeles.
Okay, yes I still think the fit is off.
But how lovely is this???
Let’s get a closer look at the pattern, because it is downright gorgeous. The colors go so well together and I love it on him. It’s another floral that’s, like, strong in its own way, and I don’t know if makes sense but somehow Harry makes it make sense.
And we need to talk about the blouse. Harry’s been alternating between traditional button-downs and pussy bows, and I notice that the jacket stays on when there’s a bow but he’ll unbutton a little when no bow. I love this simple differentiation from the half-unbuttoned tops that we associate with the first One Direction era (at some point there will be another, post hiatus, mark my words). He’s so savvy about defining himself as a solo artist without torching his boy band history, and I respect the hell out this pussy-bow-wearing gentleman.
Your fave could never unless they happen to be my fave.

IHEART RADIO FESTIVAL
Yeah, yeah, yeah, so the IHeart Radio Festival TECHNICALLY isn’t a stop on the Treat People With Kindness Tour but we absolutely could not do this post without discussing this suit. This. Red and black. VELVET. HARLEQUIN. FREDDIE MERCURY. REALNESS. What the actual fuck, Harry. I don’t know if I will ever get over this one.
And then you add a SHEER white blouse with a pussy bow? Honestly.
Maggie talked about how it seemed like he was swimming in his first two suits, so I have to say that the fit is much better on this one. His legs look SO LONG with this pattern? This suit photographs beautifully, I’m so obsessed with it.
What I want to know is how does he perform in these heavy fabrics? Does he not feel heat? Are there ice packs in the pockets? Someone tell me cause I want to die from heat stroke just looking at these.
Ultimately what I love about the harlequin suit is that LITERALLY only Harry can pull this off and not look ridiculous. He wears it with such confidence and swagger and that’s WHY it works.

In the days leading up to the show at the Ryman, I thought long and hard about what I thought Harry was going to wear. The Ryman is THE high holy place of country music, so I anticipated that he may theme his suit with the venue. I was thinking a rhinestone Nudie Suit could possibly happen. It would be a fitting tribute to the legends that came before him AND the style completely fits Harry’s aesthetic.
But then his opening act Cam (Harry is a PEACH and supports rising female country singers which is so important because country radio is a boys club) had to go and steal his rainbow sequin jumpsuit idea.
So while my rhinestone dreams may not have come true, I DID get a beautiful suit was a perfect homage to the Ryman and still a Harry Styles LOOK at the same time. I think Harry put a lot of thought into what he was going to wear at the Ryman (he did say that playing this venue was basically his reason for doing the smaller venue tour) and I gotta say he nailed it. This chocolate-brown with delicate floral detailing is GORGEOUS (and matches his hair!) and I’m a sucker for Harry in white/ivory because it compliments his skin tone SO MUCH.
Did I mention that the lining was dusty rose to match the florals on the suit? AND that Gucci added a “Harry Styles” label since it’s JUST for him?
This was the first show where Harry went with a straight leg pant over the flares that he’s been favoring since the album launch. I VASTLY prefer this cut on him and this is the first show where I thought the suit fit him perfectly. No drowning in fabric for this one.
I love that the shirt, while not the obscene level of sheer of the harlequin look still gave us a little tease. And the way he tied the bow for this show felt like a tribute to a bolo tie.
After Harry danced around with rainbow flags in his first two shows, my body was FULL of anticipation as to whether it would happen in the more conservative South. I saw people in the audience with flags during the two opening acts, but word quickly spread through social media that the venue had confiscated them because they went against policy. So there was no Harry getting a flag from the crowd moment and my heart SANK. It goes without saying that my heart promptly dropped out of my ASS when I noticed a giant rainbow flag on the drum kit during the first song of the encore, “From the Dining Table.” I swear…every time he went back for water during “The Chain,” I CLENCHED.
Leave it to Harry Styles to bust out the flag in the most dramatic fashion possible. Before he sang “Sign of the Times,” Harry gave a speech asking all of us to embrace a stranger (a speech that he would continue for the rest of the leg). He kept shouting “EMBRACE!” in the most Harry way possible. And then. AND THEN He went back to the drum kit, grabbed the flag, and whipped it around saying “Speaking of embracing, I was told that this was removed. And I would like to put it back in its rightful place.” *ties it to the mic stand* “Right here. Embrace! EMBRAAAAAAAACE!”
I’m pretty sure there are videos with me shouting “THAT’S MY SON” in the background. BECAUSE THAT’S MY SON.

9/26 CHICAGO
While I fully believe that Harry felt just as beautiful and at home in his comparatively simpler OTRA uniform (skinnies, basic blouse or tee, boots), I gotta salute his LOOK AT ME theme for his first solo tour. Until the Chicago show, the bold aspect of his outfits had either been color, print, or both. With this game changer of a suit, we get color, print, and an extra special guest: sparkles. YAY SPARKLES.
Is this not the most exquisite Faberge egg you’ve ever seen?
Forgive me for this basic bitch compliment, but it’s true: the green really brings out his eyes. They’re LITERALLY twinkling, what the fuck.
Rainbow goes with everything, darling. It’s a neutral for Harry.
Not what Cher would call a Monet, this dazzling print is even more beautiful up close. There, you can see that it’s abstractly floral. I could almost believe it were hand painted. He’s a work of art, is what I’m saying.
AH, it’s my old friend THE WHALE. We may never know why this is as hot as it is.
Part of me would have loved to have seen this paired with a white blouse, but I fear that it might be a little too Easter Parade? I trust in Hazza, and the black DOES allow the color to really pop.
Note: Important discourse
The internet continues to live its best life, and since this show has been trying to decide whether or not Harry had his quiff pinned into place that night. Harry futzing with his hair is like 35% of his sex appeal, but also I JUST got bangs, so I totally get how annoying they can be. Either way, the idea of him pulling out bobby pins at the end of the day is just too sweet to ignore.

9/28 NEW YORK
This is a boy/man/mythical creature who knows EXACTLY how good he looks in red. And yet before this album promo and tour, he’s rarely Hlessed us in that particular way. Maybe because he’s too busy blessing us in every other way that’s sartorially possible. Or maybe he just gets off on being withholding.
That picture of him on the roof, giving a pre-show sneak peek to waiting fans, makes me imagine him months before, when he first found out he’d be playing Radio City Music Hall. He calmly sets his tea down, does that little throat clear/pseudo serious subtle duck lips combo (you know the one), nods slightly and says “Let’s make people forget the Rockettes ever existed. Red.” Plus floral, because at this point he hadn’t yet dashed my 13-floral-suit-tour dreams.
And yes, obviously what actually happened is New York–>Big Apple–>RED, because this is Harry Edward Styles we’re talking about. Honestly, how hard do you think it was for him to not ask for an apple printed suit? I’m so proud of him.
Oh hey just real casual, while I have you here: Did you happen to notice IT’S ALSO FUCKING SHINY.
That Chieftan shine (yes, I googled types of apples for this) propelled him all the fuck the way up the side of the venue. I hope the entire crowd saluted him back in this moment.
Speaking of saluting: Will I ever tire of this precious mermaid aggressively and lovingly waving rainbow flags around on stage? Has Louis ever learned about roundabouts in Malaysia?

Yellow yellow yellow!!!
Perhaps not the flashiest look of the tour but dammit if yellow isn’t everything to me.
Our precious sun child always exudes light and happiness and I think this look really exemplifies that in such a simple way.
I like how the pattern here is like more spaced out and not like as full as his other florals/patterns (maybe someone with a better fashion vocab could make better sense of that but you know what I mean).
ALSO THE LEAVES SPARKLE YOU GUYS.
Bright yellow, Shiny leaves, his glowing face. The black shirt pulls it back just enough so that we don’t have to view this supernova through eclipse glasses.
Shine bright, shine far where you are, he’s my star. ????

10/1 WASHINGTON, D.C.
Editor’s note: Here’s where Harry blew up the whole different suit every show plan with a repeat of a look from album promo. Honestly, we should have expected nothing less from the man who had kiwi slices delivered to fans waiting in line for SNL only to play Ever Since New York for his second song.
HEY, SPEED RACER.
LOVE the apparent simplicity of this one-of-a-kind Gucci look. Not only do the vertical stripes make his legs look longer than long, but the plain shirt also lets his face do the shining. The patterned suits are art, but sometimes their busy intensity draws away from the art that is his face and jaw. Harry, love, YOU ARE ENOUGH. (The outfit also reminds of how he has always owned a plain tee in a catwalk prance.)
“Why yes, I *do* know how amazing I look and I am totally leaning into it, all nonchalant about it. At the same time, my pants are too long, and because I’m Harry Styles-being-nonchalant and I do everything 100% full-tilt it’s not impossible that this leaning into it could end up slightly horizontal than I originally planned?”
Reaction #1: Belt it, baby. Awww, yeah. Make love to that microphone. Reaction #2: WAIT WHAT IS THAT TEXTURE? OMIGOD IS IT SUEDE? IS HE REALLY UP THERE IN SUEDE PANTS.
PHEW. It’s clearly velvet in this shot. So everyone’s ok. Well, *I’m* not ok because: velvet. The tactile quality of that velvet, and when you add in those thighs, it’s a LOT. I do think the suede would probably have been a better fit; like many of Harry’s tour looks, I want to send him a tailor via express mail. These pants are custom-made Gucci. Surely they should be perfect?
Staying on this shot a little longer: it’s one of the few where you actually see the gorgeous detailing. At first this seemed like a plain black stripe turns out to be a black stripe on top of a charcoal stripe, adding more depth and texture to this look (it’s part of why the optical illusion works so well from a distance, too).
In this shot, you can see the stripe-on-stripe if you know it’s there, but also how the fit bags a touch. THAT SAID, the charcoal shirt looks like heavy silk and I’m really loving the dimple/silk/velvet texture thing he’s working. Does it surprise me a bit to see him in a sybarite’s dream of materials? Nope.
I just. *Certain* men living in DC hadn’t realized the scope of the disaster in Puerto Rico at this point. Or that Puerto Rico is American.
But Harry Styles? On it.
Here he’s dedicating Sign of the Times to the victims of Hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico and asking the crowd to send them love. (Because “love is love is love”) He makes a second jab to the US President, right after that guy signed a directive banning the US Armed Forces from accepting transgender recruits and prohibiting the use of government funds for sex reassignment surgery, with the Trans flag (one of two at on stage at this show). When Mr. Styles says “Treat people with kindness,” he means ALL people not just the ones like him. This particular moment–IN WASHINGTON, D.C.–is about as directly political as he’s ever been and we are HERE FOR IT.

10/4 TORONTO
Once Harry broke the pattern of brand new looks and proved that he’s just like us when it comes to outfit repeating, we all began theorizing what other looks would be making a return engagement. (How I WISH that the Kiwi pinstripe jumpsuit had been Gucci instead of Charles Jeffrey. @Gucci MAKE HIM A JUMPSUIT. I will NEVER be over the jumpsuit.) It was no surprise to me that Harry went back to this gorgeous deep purple Asian inspired print suit that he wore for his first appearance of his Late Late Show residency.
Also known as the DONALD DUCK SUIT.
Honestly, I’m dying to know what went on in the design of the print. Whose idea was it to put Donald freaking Duck in it? Was he always there? Or were they in a design meeting and someone just said “You know what this print needs? Hidden Donald Ducks!” Is this suit officially licensed from Disney or is this Gucci/Harry being sneaky because you DO have to look close to see him? Did Harry bring in his Mickey Mouse Hawaiian shirt and say I want this but MORE extra? Are there plans for more hidden Disney character suits? SOMEONE TELL ME.
What I appreciate about this suit is that we all KNOW it’s plum but the stage lights often made it look black? Sorcery! I also appreciate how he DID change up this look a little, exchanging the simple black button down from Late Late for a black pussy bow blouse. Subtle changes like this DO make a difference.
Of all the suits with flared pants, I think this one fits him the best. (Maggie and I have theorized that the fabric required a lot more tailoring, hence the more precise fit.) The pants are cut pretty slim through his thighs then flare at the perfect spot AND the flare is definitely more subtle that his previous suits. It’s a perfect boot cut, the exact happy medium between a skinny straight leg and a pure bell bottom.
The jacket doesn’t swallow him either. I love the contrasting solid plum lapels.
It’s not a Harry concert without a pride flag! Also, I love how this shot captures the subtle shine of the material. Not as shiny as his Radio City suit or his Boston suit but definitely not a matte look.
Toronto is where Harry truly leveled up though. It wasn’t enough to ask for Pride flags from the audience. He’d done it for seven consecutive shows after all. He’d proudly waved rainbows and trans flags and bi flags…what do you DO after that, other than keep waving them? Well…you do what he did in Toronto. Harry spotted a rainbow boa in the front row and DEAD ASS STOLE IT from the girl. SHE’S NOT EVEN OFFERING IT? He just sees it and says “THAT MINE!” and TAKES IT. She can cross “Almost having her neck snapped by Harry Styles over a rainbow boa” off her bucket list. Honestly, goals.
IS THIS NOT THE MOST BEAUTIFUL THING YOU’VE EVER SEEN? Also the boa strangely (or not so strangely) brings out the delicate colors of the print. It’s like they were MFEO.
My favorite thing is that Harry never gave the boa BACK. He left the stage with it. It’s most definitely hanging in his closet at home now, right next to all of RBB and SBB’s costumes.

I don’t do things halfway so if we’re talking favorite Harry looks, for me it’s dragon pants or bust.
And I’m partial to this pair of Gucci dragon pants out of his collection, mainly because of the way that the red pops. If I’m following Maggie’s social media closely enough, he doesn’t wear a lot of this color combo but I really like it.
Also into the velvet detail on the jacket.
The look works without the jacket too, thanks to the dragons. Side note: The lighting in this photo is perfection.

10/8 ATLANTA
Men’s fashion tends to be boring, so I love a risk taker like Harry and no one does it better than him. Statistically speaking, though, his looks can’t all be winners.
That brings us to Atlanta.
Here, get a better look at these pants, which Harry Styles Fashion Archive described as “silk trousers in bright yellow with a wild print featuring potted plants on shelves.”
I hate.
I love the man wearing them and all he stands for, though. I know he’ll keep trying new things, and some will work better than others, and that inspires me to be a little more bold in my own style choices. As much as I hate these pants (and I do), I’m glad he wore them.

10/10 DALLAS
There’s no question that Harry can rock the hell out of a silk dragon embroidered suit or a pinstriped jumpsuit with shoulder pads or anything else he sets his beautiful mind to really. But I have to admit that as the tour went on I realized that on stage I prefer him in more pared down looks like this one.
He wears his florals and pussy bows with such lovely confidence but some of those suits look so thick and heavy on him that I find myself distracted wondering how uncomfortably hot and sweaty he must be when he really gets moving. It may have just been him relaxing into his tour, or my own imagination, but the simple collared button down paired with a pair of printed pants seemed to give him a bit more ease to go full flail monster on stage.
And that’s my favorite version of Harry no matter what he’s wearing.
Of course, as much as I love the simplicity, I am also very much here for this lovingly inclusive burlesque cowboy.

I love this suit (another album promo repeat!) because it reminds me so much of the beautiful pink suit he wore for The Today Show, which is in my top 5 favorite looks so far with solo Harold. Then you take it up a notch by adding DRAGONS!
My favorite thing about Harry and his fashion sense is that he looks happy and I love that he is so experimental and flashy. I also love that he looks so beautiful in everything he wears. He looks at ease.
I just love his happiness & dancing, a party on stage of him performing (especially Kiwi).
What I love about concert Harry is he makes sure that he includes ALL of his fans. He’s not just there for the hetero crowd and that is evident by always making sure to include a rainbow flag, but for this particular concert he has the bi and trans flag. Harry is for the people…ALL the people. He’s just a big ball of colorful, crazy talented, happy love.

10/14 PHOENIX
And here we are: Phoenix, the last date of this tour leg.
It’s obviously still a little disappointing that Harry didn’t follow through on his unspoken promise of 13 new Gucci floral suits like we’d hoped, but what a perfect bookend to this tour leg with this return to traditional floral (no disrespect to any of the other patterns – except Atlanta, full disrespect to the pattern on the pants in Atlanta).
Plain blouse, prim and proper.
Bonus, Harry found a kindred spirit to pull on stage during Woman at this show (the video is adorb). Listen, I love Harry with all my heart, but can you imagine trying to dance with someone that committed to his dad moves?
And yes, Harry picked up, ran with, twirled and/or tied rainbow flags to his mic stand at all 13 shows of this tour leg. He and his band brought their own trans flags to D.C. Someone threw a bi flag on stage at least once for it to be picked up. At most shows, Harry told his audience to please “feel free to be whoever you are in this room.” He put TREAT PEOPLE WITH KINDNESS on his merchandise. And he started introducing himself as “Harry, I’m from England” even as he knew exactly the safe space his American audiences needed in the current political climate.
And for that, I say thank you.
